Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Project

Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Project

Estimated Read Time: 1 Minutes

Miller Diversified was proud to sponsor one of the playhouses for the Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Project Blitz Build! Our team, led by Cassie Kaptur-Easterwood, dedicated the day to constructing a Barbie-themed playhouse for a wonderful girl named Samantha. Each playhouse is given to a local family at no cost, with themes chosen by the recipients to create a truly personalized experience.

The Playhouse Project took place at Fifth Third Field, where each house was constructed in about six hours. Lisa and Cassie designed the playhouse, with Lisa sourcing nearly all the accessories and Cassie sewing custom Barbie curtains. Tom and Tony meticulously crafted the Barbie silhouettes by hand, working on them over two days. The team even created custom t-shirts for the event to celebrate the occasion.

This year’s Playhouse Project has become the largest fundraising event for Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity, supporting the construction of a new “Playhouse” home in Lucas County. The future homeowner of this special house invests significant effort and dedication to earn a zero percent interest mortgage loan, providing a meaningful path to homeownership. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this impactful project.

A heartfelt thank you to our team for bringing the “Barbie Dreamhouse” to life. We value our partnership with Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity and appreciate the chance to support their mission to strengthen our community. These efforts align closely with our own mission: Building Value & Enriching Lives Across Generations.

Altogether, 30 playhouses were built for deserving families this year. The creativity and care each team brought to their playhouse was remarkable, resulting in imaginative mini-homes that will bring years of joy to their new owners. We’re already looking forward to participating in next year’s Playhouse Project.
