ABOUT THIS COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Miller Diversified completed renovations and performed the construction of a new addition to Epworth United Methodist Church. This multi-level church included a lobby expansion, classrooms, and a 9,000 SF basement for youth areas.

THE MILLER DIVERSIFIED CONSTRUCTION DIFFERENCE

The ornate interior of the church required a problem-solving mindset for several construction upgrades. Not only were wood species and stone types carefully matched, but our team also assisted in an overhaul of the church’s sprinkler system, disguising the new system entirely to remain hidden in the church’s stone and woodwork. Further, our team was able to spot an improperly capped sewage line from a previous contractor and was able to remedy the issue entirely prior to the start of the project, preventing a sewage backup. The team was even able to support the church in keeping a working restroom open while the issues were remedied in less than a day. Our team additionally helped provide a solution for the church basement, which was at risk of flooding due to a high water table in the area. The Miller team formulated a dynamic flood prevention plan involving dual sump pumps and a backup generator with the capacity to power the pumps in the event of a power outage to avoid flood damage to the building.
